Bob Tyo Jr. - is a retired vocational counselor who worked at Rochester Psychiatric Center for
35 years (What a surprise) He now works as a part-time school counselor. You only have to
worry if your high school age children live in the upstate New York region. Bob starting racing
stock cars in 1972 switched to Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) road racing.
Debbie Lisena Tyo is Bobs loving wife who knows he is totally nuts but loves him anyways.
In addition to putting up with Bob she is a great mother and teacher. She teaches hospitality /
tourism at a local vocational and technical high school and is also an assistant professor at
Monroe Community College. Bob and Debbie met at the Psychiatric center (where they both
worked-surprise)
Zachary Tyo (son) attends Buffalo State College and majors in mechanical engineering. He
take after his two grandfathers, Bob Tyo Senior and Nick Lisena. He is level headed and
patient (unlike his Dad). He helped with the restoration as much as he could while attending
college and working part-time.
Shannon Tyo (daughter) attends Syracuse University and is a musical theater major. She
listens to all the hype about the restoration and calms the house down with piano playing and
singing.
Marc Simmons is Bob’s lifetime friend who helped Bob and his father Bob Sr. with stock cars
in the early 70’s. Marc started racing Formula Fords at the Jim Russell School and was a star in
the Russell Racing Series located in Canada. He later bought an Austin Healy Sprite road
racecar. Marc and Bob were partners in Rinky-Dink Racing and raced SCCA events in the F
production Sprite throughout the Easten United States. Marc and Bob both had numerous wins
in SCCA racing from 1978-1990. Marc recently left Eastman Kodak and now works for Gould
Pumps in Seneca Falls N.Y. Marc is married to Barbara Ann. They have a son Adam, who
helps on the car when he can and will be attending college next year. Even though Marc has
been around Bob since they were kids he is relatively sane and level headed.
Jack Clark- is a retired City of Rochester school teacher. This guy is totally nuts. Jack is also
known as “Wild Man”. He works very hard on the racecar and keeps Bob sane by laughing at
him. Jack and Bob met while Bob was restoring a 1972 Corvette. They have since restored a
1964 and another 1972 Corvette. Jack is a near scratch golfer and used to own Corvettes but
has since lost his mind totally and owns a Carrea 911 Whale Tail Porsche and BMW M3. Jack
lives with his lovely wife Karen who is still based in reality even though she lives with Jack
.Cliff Wake-Cliff and Bob met in the Army when they went to boot camp and mechanic
training together. Cliff works for the Monroe County Water Authority. Cliff is an old wrencher
who loves racing. He also helps some local racers who race asphalt modifieds. Cliffs main job
at Wingtip Racing is worrying about everything. He also hears Labatt Blue beer cans asking to
be emptied. Cliff also believes that dirt is for racecars (what is he new here)? He has two
grown sons Stephen and Mike. He has a lovely wife Margie who is going to heaven after many
years with Cliff.
Doug Cross- (The Gentle Giant) owns the motor home we borrow for races. He is an
electrician who works about 100 hours a week and is a Grandpa and hockey player so he
doesn’t have much time to spare. When he does help he keeps us laughing almost every
minute. He also is the cook on race weekends and makes a mean “samich”.
Mike Urckfitz-Mike is a boyhood friend of Cliff and has been a gear head all his life. Mike is a
past drag , stockcar and street rod racer. He knows everything there is to know about Chevy’s
and also helps many local modified racers. His oldest son Jason raced dirt, street stock and
modifieds. His middle son David worked, until recently, as a fabricator for DEI. His youngest
son Josh is a very active young man who enjoys 4 wheeling.
John Treadway-is a family friend and electrical engineer. He really loves Boats but helps Bob
and the group anyways because he is a great friend. He went with Bob and Zach to pick up the
car in Michigan.
Dan Pavlock-grew up with Marc and Bob and is a former Radio Shack District Manager. He
also managed a Comp USA store in Rochester. He is an avid golfer and Corvette lover. He has
a 1969 L89, 427 Convertible, a 1982 Coupe and a 2002 Z06. He lives with his wife Linda and
helps with the racecar when he can.
Paul St. Denis-Paul is an electrician who worked with Doug Cross at Kodak. He is a real racer
who works on anything with wheels. He is a member of a local modified team and helps out on
race weekends with Wingtip racing. He is a mechanical genius.
